an apple a day

The four month stats:

14 lbs 10 oz
25 inches long

Cole, Pops and I went for our 4 month check up today with Dr. Margolis. Its always so nice to go there; the nurses are sweet, the reception folks get you in quick and Dr. M is fantastic! It's even nicer when Cole isn't screaming the entire time, too.

We talked about how Cole is doing - laughing, cooing, holding his head up and grabbing things (especially hair)! We decided to wait on giving him cereal or any other solids for a few more months because he's certainly gaining weight just fine. Cole also got the 2nd round of vaccinations that are required for New Hampshire daycare and schools.

He started to cry when the nurses unveiled the needles. I think he knew what was coming. That's why we bring Pops - for the moral support, of course, but more importantly, so Cole associates his face with the pain because he holds his legs steady during the shots.

The best part of the visit is that Cole gets a dose of Tylenol and I get the go ahead to give him another later on when we get home. Infant Tylenol is a wonderful thing for a new mom. That boy of mine turns quiet and takes a nap like a champ.

Except at 10:00 p.m., when he should be sleeping but just woke up because you've drugged him to sleep for the afternoon. . .
